Spatial Abilities: New visual material in the project video

Spatial imagination is a fundamental skill for orientation in space. The targeted promotion of this skill can be supported particularly effectively through playful approaches, especially through methods from game design. The Spatial Abilities project is developing interactive, virtual training software in the form of a video game. The three-dimensional game environment offers exercises that build on each other to train spatial thinking. Progress is documented and made measurable.

The project video was originally published in January 2024. At that time, the project was still in an early phase, which is why the visual material was largely sketchy. The video was revised with the April 2025 update: Some scenes were replaced with current, much more visually expressive material. The updated video shows the progress of the project.

In the video, Ulrich Götz (ZHdK Game Design), Andri Gerber (ZHAW Architecture, Design and Civil Engineering) and Natasha Sebben (ZHdK Game Design) talk about the project.

The project is being funded as part of the 2nd project call in the innovation program.
