In 2025, DIZH entered the second half of its term. The establishment phase of the research cluster has been completed, and projects are progressing according to plan. Within the education program, discussions on shared themes have deepened.
In the innovation program, all five call types were announced in the same year for the first time. 30 new projects have been approved, bringing the total number of funded projects to 120, with over CHF 32 million in funding. Five new structures with a long-term focus strengthen the sustainability of DIZH. Thematic topics range from immersive educational formats and responsible AI to sustainability in finance, language barriers in public institutions and socially relevant data.
Two topics that have particularly engaged researchers and lecturers at universities across all areas of DIZH are AI and health. AI is used as a tool in many projects, but is also critically examined, for example in the context of fake news. In the health sector, AI has proven its worth in diagnosis and the indexing of specialist literature.
