An accompanying study on the Digital resilience: tool for AI and deepfake skills among young people project has been published in the journal “MedienPädagogik: Zeitschrift für Theorie und Praxis der Medienbildung”. As part of the project, researchers from the fields of communication studies, media research and education, history theory and didactics, and linguistics developed the online tool ki-schule.eu, which supports young people in building AI literacy.
On the institutional level, KI-Schule.eu is now part of fög – the Research Centre for the Public Sphere and Society at the University of Zurich. This ensures the long-term development of the program.
The publication provides an insight into the project and the tool, with a focus on the empirical study of learning processes during its use. The evaluation shows that the tool encourages reflection on the opportunities and risks of AI. It becomes particularly clear that young people primarily choose ethical and social issues that are closely linked to their own lived experiences, and which should therefore also have a place in the school context.
