Scientifica will take place from 22 to 30 August 2026. The programme is spread over nine days across four venues, including, for the first time, the Zurich Innovation Park in Dübendorf. With around 1,000 participants and over 70 events, this is the largest edition in Scientifica’s history. More than 40 laboratories at ETH and UZH will be opening their doors, alongside shows, science slams and hands-on workshops.
On 27 August at 5.30 pm, we invite you to a panel discussion entitled “Communicating sustainability: new ways of sharing knowledge” at Nüü (ZHAW, Lagerstrasse 45).
Using three funded projects as examples, we will demonstrate how scientific findings on environmental sustainability can be communicated in an accessible and participatory way. Augmented Ecospheres uses art to bring home the threat posed to natural habitats by the climate crisis. AgroPionier utilises citizen science to enable farmers to exchange knowledge about niche crops. The Public Data Lab uses deep learning to visualise the quality of green spaces in the Canton of Zurich.
Afterwards, we will discuss with the audience the role that participatory approaches and digital tools play in ecological transformation.
