The ZHdK Digital Council has published the results of its second AI survey. The three data stories show that the use of artificial intelligence is becoming more commonplace at ZHdK, but also more critical and reflective.

73 percent of respondents now use AI tools, up from 59 percent last year. 68 percent of users use AI more frequently than they did a year ago. However, usage varies depending on the field of activity. AI is already more established in research than in teaching. The survey also shows that AI is used across the entire spectrum of administrative to creative activities, mainly for text-based tasks such as translating, editing, and researching.
At the same time, awareness of the complexity of the topic is growing. Many voices from the university are critical of the ethical, ecological, and data protection aspects of AI applications. This nuanced attitude is in line with the ZHdK’s motto of “critical curiosity.”
