Launch of the Swiss Center for Responsible AI

The Swiss Centre for Responsible AI (SCRAI) has begun its work. It connects research, industry, and politics to promote the responsible and human-centered use of artificial intelligence.

The kick-off event, “Bridging the Gap Between Theory and Practice in Responsible AI,” took place as part of the Zurich AI Festival. Experts from government, business, and academia discussed how responsible AI can be implemented in practice:

  • Raphael von Thiessen (Canton of Zurich) presented how the canton is establishing structures to promote responsible AI.
  • Christina Meyer (Swiss Post) highlighted Swiss Post’s initiatives to implement responsible AI.
  • Josef Kruckenberg (Liip) contributed the industry perspective and explained practical approaches to responsible innovation.

The event was part of the official launch of SCRAI, which is funded in the 2nd Structure Call. The center emerged from the project originally submitted as AI Bridge and is now called the Swiss Centre for Responsible AI (SCRAI).
