New paper published in «International Journal of Technoethics»

DSI researcher Dr. Ning Wang published a new paper on a study that analyzed experts’ perspectives regarding public acceptance of urban drones in the Swiss context.

DSI reseacher Dr. Ning Wang published the paper «“Trusting the Sky!”: Expert Perceptions Regarding Public Acceptance of Urban Drones» in the current issue of the «International Journal of Technoethics». This work was supported by the UZH Research Talent Development Fund (FAN), which was designated to the project «SKY» (The Sky Is the Limit? Ethical Acceptability of Autonomous Systems in Switzerland) in 2023.

In the publication, experts’ perspectives on public acceptance of urban drones in Switzerland are analyzed, with trust identified as the central factor shaping societal perceptions. The study concludes that building trust requires aligning drone governance with societal values, involving diverse stakeholders, and applying a responsible innovation framework to establish shared ethical standards.
