Making sustainability measurable
The global loss of biodiversity and the increasing water scarcity are among the most pressing environmental challenges of our time. This is where PanGeo Nature Risk GmbH comes in: Using scientifically grounded analyses of spatial environmental footprints and linking them to corporate locations, the team assesses how efficient ecosystems are, particularly in terms of biodiversity conservation and water resources.
The goal is to make nature-related risks visible in an objective and transparent way, thereby providing a solid basis for decision-making for companies and financial institutions that want to better understand and reduce their environmental impact.
The company is a spin-off of the ZHAW. Its scientific basis was developed through the BRIDGE Discovery project “Spatial Sustainable Financee” and the DIZH-funded projects “Biodiversity Value at Risk” and “Digitising Environmental Impacts using Geospatial Analytics”.
With the founding of PanGeo Nature Risk GmbH, academic knowledge is being translated into practical tools and solutions, thus contributing to a more responsible and sustainable economy.
