Exhibition “Eroding Grounds”

The exhibition “Eroding Grounds” was held at the Kulturhaus Helferei in Zurich from 1 to 3 May 2026 and attracted over 1,000 visitors in three days. It brought together artistic and scientific perspectives on a pressing issue: thawing permafrost, shifting scree, and fragile mountain habitats. Natural and cultural spaces worldwide are subject to drastically accelerated processes of erosion and decline.

The kinetic sound installation “Im Griess” is the first publicly presented prototype of the Augmented Ecospheres project, which is funded in the 3rd Project Call. Behind the project are artists and scientists from ZHdK and ZHAW, who are jointly investigating how climate change affects Alpine ecosystems and how this can be made tangible.
