As a bridge professor for digital cultures and arts, Roland Meyer combines teaching and research at ZHdK and UZH. The DIZH bridge professorship “Digital Cultures and Arts” is now online with a new website.
The professorship combines media and visual culture studies and deals with digital visual cultures, platform capitalism, and the transformation of the arts. The focus is on the aesthetic, epistemic, and political aspects of networked visual cultures.

International Conference: «React & Respond. Image Cultures under Platform Capitalism» (2. – 4. October 2025)
The conference examines how contemporary networked image cultures are shaped by platform capitalism. It shows how algorithmically curated content and personalized feeds influence the production, distribution, and reception of visual media. Researchers and artists discuss the aesthetic, ideological, and political implications of these digital economies at events at Kino Xenix, Cabaret Voltaire, and Fotomuseum Winterthur.
