Successful Implementation of the First Four Cybersecurity Clinic Projects

The CYRENZH Cybersecurity Clinic offers pro bono cybersecurity services to selected organizations in Switzerland. Students from the University of Zurich, the ZHAW School of Engineering and the ZHAW School of Management and Law apply the knowledge they have acquired during their studies in a practical way to strengthen the cyber resilience of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), municipalities, schools, non-profit organizations, start-ups and associations.

The services offered include security analyses, risk assessments, awareness training and technical and organizational consulting. The projects are integrated into the university curricula and are supervised by experienced lecturers. The aim is both to improve the security situation of the participating organizations and to promote the training of the next generation of cybersecurity specialists.

Four CYRENZH Cybersecurity Clinic projects were successfully completed in the fall semester of 2024. Ten students worked on projects on web application security, cybersecurity hardening for SMEs, cybersecurity on the farm and the development of a toolbox for penetration testing. They were able to gain valuable practical experience and achieve concrete improvements for the organizations involved.

Detailed information on the individual projects and their results can be found here.
