DIZH Fellow Christiane Hohenstein of the ZHAW School of Applied Linguistics is conducting research to make it easier for people who communicate in sign language to study in the digital age. The aim is to develop an app that enables people who communicate in sign language to learn academic vocabulary and expand their academic language.

Digital transformation is one of the greatest societal challenges of our time. How we work and consume, communicate and interact, teach and learn is undergoing profound changes. Where are schools and society heading in the age of digital data and media? What are the risks and opportunities associated with digitization? And how can learning succeed under digital conditions? This series of topics focuses on various current developments and offers an in-depth look at the digital transformation of society and education.

The project aims to provide data, insights, and recommendations on non-technical aspects of cybersecurity. It helps to address ethical and legal challenges in securing the digital infrastructure of Switzerland. The project is part of the National Research Programme 77 “Digital Transformation”.
