Val Mucilaginosa

Val Mucilaginosa is a mixed-reality installation that unfolds at the sphere where plant knowledge, scientific inquiry, and spirituality meet. Drawing on ethnobotanical research, and biochemical insights, the art work approaches healing not as a fixed body of knowledge, but as a living, relational process. Visitors move between two sculptural poles—one evoking rational phytotherapy and molecular analysis, the other rooted in ritual, care, and more-than-human relationships.
The installation was created by visual artist Isabel Bullerschen together with Chris Elvis Leisi (Immersive Arts Space, Experience Design), Florian Baumann (3D Design), Magda Drozd (Composition/Sound Design) and Hannah Mehler (Voice Over/Singing Voice).
Commissioned by We Are AIA for their project «Botanical Memories – On Healing and Care» & the Botanical Garden of the University of Zurich for «Plants as Medicine – Diversity in Switzerland».
Co-creation: Immersive Art Space
