From vocational training to oral surgery: in March, IMMERSE showcased immersive technologies in practical settings at two specialist events.
At the conference of the Swiss Society for Applied Vocational Education Research (SGAB) in mid-March, the IMMERSE Theatre was launched at the PHZH. The installation offers a high-resolution 3D projection screen for gigapixel images, 360-degree videos and interactive 3D models. Around 260 participants experienced the environment live and discussed initial applications in vocational training.
Also in March, Prof. Dr Bernd Stadlinger, in collaboration with Siemens Healthineers, presented immersive 3D anatomical visualisations for the first time at the Careum Auditorium during the annual congress of the Swiss Society for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Diseases. Over 100 specialists in oral and maxillofacial surgery and oral diseases witnessed how complex anatomical structures can be presented in an immersive way, with concrete potential for teaching and clinical practice.
The project team regularly posts updates on IMMERSE’s LinkedIn page.
