He refers to AI-generated content from right-wing social media accounts and, in particular, from political leaders such as Donald Trump and the Iranian regime. “Generative AI enables the rapid mass production of content that can spread quickly across social media on a global scale. But ‘Slopaganda’ is not merely a quantitative phenomenon. It is also distributed, participatory propaganda—propaganda that invites participation. Many people are involved in its production and dissemination, by no means exclusively political actors,” writes Meyer at the start of his online column.
